• RE: Difficulty Saving Waveforms to PC, TekScope Utility showing Error

I resolved the issue with OpenChoice Desktop - it seems that in "High Resolution" Acquisition mode, what is displayed on the oscilloscope screen vs what is stored as the waveform is substantially different.

Switching the scope to "Sample" Acquisition mode resulted in a slightly noiser signal on the scope but allowed OpenChoice Desktop to get essentially the same signal.

I also noticed during my testing something that was likely noted somewhere in a manual: if you are trying to save a waveform to USB, the USB needs to be inserted in the USB A port at the front, not the back.

  • Difficulty Saving Waveforms to PC, TekScope Utility showing Error

I have been trying to save waveforms from a Tektronix TBS2014 C020699 scope to my PC.

First I downloaded OpenChoice Desktop. I am able to capture photos of the scope screen alright, but the waveform data seems incorrect. Regardless, it would be nice to have the ability to save many .csv files as the scope is triggered (I am looking to save about 90 waveforms total).

When I downloaded TekScope Utility to try to connect, I also downloaded NI VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture) software supporting the VISA.NET library. (http://www.ni.com/download/ni-visa-run-time-engine/7222/en/) and checked that the .NET framework was updated to .NET Framework 4.6.0 (which I already had).

Unfortunately, the TekScope Utility shows an error message of  "No vendor-specific .NET implementation is installed."

I then re-downloaded TekVISA and checked something about it co-existing IIRC. No improvement. The last thing I tried is downloading TekVISA OpenChoiceTekVisa_Deployment_Package_066093813, which I think is 4.1.1

    My questions are:
    1) Any idea of how to connect my scope to TekScope Utility? Is there some missing package?
    2) Is there a reason why the data I save when I save waveforms in OpenChoice desktop looks nothing like the data I have on the oscilloscope screen?
