• RE: MSO24 Roll mode

Hi Jonathan,

Roll mode has yet to be implemented in the MSO2, it will be included in an upcoming release.
• RE: Tek 1740a Blurry Screen

Hi,

The 1740 and 1740A are waveform monitors, not oscilloscopes. They were especially made to work with NTSC signals, not general electrical signals like an oscilloscope and so have many functions and capabilities that aren't of much use outside of video signals.

As far as I know, the A version was a complete redesign and so compatible parts might be limited.

The unofficial TekWiki page on them includes more information on them, including manuals: https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/1740
• RE: VB.net and power readings

Hi David,

It appears you are trying to communicate with your RSA306B from Visual Basic. Have you considered using the SCPI interface that is made usable by SignalVu-PC instead of the RSA API which is much harder to use and unsupported?
• RE: TDS5104B

Hi Yuli,

I believe that is the correct part number for that serial number, yes. It should still be in stock.

The CD contains a full OS restore, it should include all all the appropriate drivers for the instrument, yes.
• RE: TDS5104B

Hi Yuli,

I believe we still have some of those OS restore disks for sale (while stock lasts). Here are the part numbers according to the serial number range:
B010XXXX: 063-3693-01
B020XXXX: 063-3759-02
B030XXXX: 020-2880-01
B050XXXX and up: 020-2970-02

To order a part call 1-800-833-9200 opt 1.
Or send an email to buy@tektronix.com

• RE: S - Parameter files ( .s3p & .s6p) for Trimode probe P7513A & Probe tip P75LRST

Hi,

I apologize but my initial comment was incorrect, we do provide S parameter files for several P7500 probe tips besides the performance solder tips.
These should be available in SDLA by clicking "De-embed", select "High Z" probe type, select the "Probe" block, click the drop down menu and select your probe model and then you can select the appropriate file according to your probe configuration and tip.

As I said, SDLA should include those files, if it does not, then please email me at afonso.teles@tektronix.com and I will get you the files you need.
• RE: S - Parameter files ( .s3p & .s6p) for Trimode probe P7513A & Probe tip P75LRST

Hi,

S parameter files are only provided for the performance solder tips, not for the long reach type.
• RE: MSO58 curve query on REF waveforms

Hi David,

I was able to replicate this issue in the latest FW version (1.44) and I've contacted our software team to inform them about it. Thank you for reporting this to us!

I have found that the curve query timesout if data:source was previously set to a channel with a different data encoding.
So, as a temporary workaround, you will have to keep track of where your reference waveforms came from and, before calling "curve?" or "data:enc?", set "data:source" to the appropriate type of channel, followed by setting it to your desired reference waveform.

• RE: use MSO digital channels to measure phase delay in degrees.

Hi Xiang,

Looking at your image it looks like you have a signal with 1.5 us period, which is to say, 0.667 MHz. The TPL058 (which is the appropriate logic probe for the MSO4/5/6, which I assume you're using) has a bandwidth of 500 MHz and a maximum sampling rate of 6.25 GS/s.
These specifications exceed your signal and so I expect you to be able to get quite good resolution of the phase measurement.
• RE: RSA3408B Option 10 (Audio THD)

Hi Jay,

The specifications of the measurements possible with Option 10 should match the specifications of the hardware, there's no need for a separate spec for that option.

If you have a certain measurement spec that you need I can give you some more specific help in finding/calculating it.
