Hello,

What is the easiest way to save the screen image of the MDO34 oscilloscope via network or web interface?  Anything computer-based that isn't moving a flash drive back and forth.

On our Teledyne Lecroy scopes we can just go to the scope's IP-address/instrumentscreen.html in a web browser to see the screen, right click and Save As to get the full res image.  Can I do that on the MDO34?

So far my only workaround is to go to the Instrument Control screen at the scope's IP address and taking a screenshot on my computer, but this results in a very blurry and stretched image.  Nothing like the 1920x1080p image I should be getting.

See attached images for comparison between the two scopes.  Both scopes are 4-channel and in a similar price range, so I would think I could do similar with the Tektronix scope.  Thanks

Hi Jacob,

There are several ways to connect your PC to your MDO34. eScope is meant as a quick and easy way to remote control the instrument.

If all you need to do is get a screenshot/hardcopy, I would recommend the free application, TekScope Utility.
It also features other data acquisition capabilities, like waveform data or measurement values.

For something more fully fledged, TekScope is the way to go. It allows you to connect to and control several scopes at the same time, controlling them all through the same interface as you will be used on the instrument itself.

Thanks Afonso!

Sounds good, I did successfully get the TekScope Utility set up today and am satisfied with it so far. I'm just a little surprised that Tektronix doesn't have their own free solution with basic functionality for saving images or waveforms, and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.

Do you know if there's a way to edit the config file for TekScope Utility to change the default Save location?  I tried a little bit but couldn't get it to work.

Hi Jacob,

Yes, the option to change the default save location is under Tools -> Options -> General -> Default Save Locations.
