This is my first post here. I have a Tek 2246A.  The digital readout information that is normally displayed near the top and bottom of the display has “collapsed” into a single thin line at the center of the display along the horizontal axis.  It’s about 1/16” high so you can count the number of characters but they are just dashes. I posted a photo.

One could say that the information is being displayed horizontally but not sweeping vertically.  The wave forms all display properly but using it this way is kind of a shot in the dark because the voltage and time controls have no markings and one must rely on the digital display for that info.

Is this likely something that can be fixed or are we more likely looking at the failure of an unavailable IC?

The 2246 is a wonderful scope and I’d like to get her up and running properly again.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Hi David,

Have you checked the signals going in/out of U2416A and U2416D? Failure of those could explain what you're seeing.
