scope 520D fails with an 8 showing on the led.
Checked serial post output on boot with the following:
DRAM test passed.


        Bootrom Header Checksum passed.
        Bootrom Total Checksum passed.
        BootRom Check Sum passed.
        Bus Error Timeout test passed.

Kernel Diagnostics Complete.

Calling SDM (monitor) Routine.

        Enabling Bus Control register. Value = 0x67
        IMR 1 Register test passed.
        Misc. Register test passed.
        Timer Interrupt test (Auto-Vector) passed.
        NVRam DSACK test passed.
        NVRam Write protected.
Flashrom Header failed: Bad jumpcode = 0x78253078, should be 0x4e714ef9

Flashrom DSACK-JUMP CODE test failed.
Cannot transfer control to Flashrom.
Transferring control to the SDM (monitor).

Need a pointer to where to check, tried with sub NVram and CLKram though battery voltage is good result same.

Looks like it's reading corrupt data from the main ROM. Don't touch U1331 (boot ROM) since it seems fine. While it is possible for the main ROM bank (U800-U803, type 28F080 I believe) to go bad, I would first suspect PCB damage from the original capacitors. This is well documented and must be addressed before any further troubleshooting.

Thanks Chris, I will check the traces when i finish the turkey. The capacitors all look fine and can see no signs of weeping but will go ahead and check/replace as many as i have stock.

OK, so checked all capacitors although they are all tant types not subject to leaks. Did not see any doubtful traces. Unsure about where to go now. This A11 is the later type pcb, I do have a donor pcb from the same model for spares (the donor is non functional, has had work around the main uprocessor). have tried a good A11 from a working scope and the unit seems to work ok passing start tests.
