We are using the function max-hold to acquire a static spectrum with two different spans, namely 10 MHz and 2 GHz. We noticed that there is an offset between the two spectra, so we repeated the measurement with the function average in order to understand the origin of the problem. Now we see that the spectra acquired with max-hold and with average differ from each other by an offset, both the one with span 10 MHz and the one with span 2 GHz. The plots are attached.
Since the spectra we are considering do not change in time, we claim that the reason for this offset is not related to the function max-hold itself.
Questions:
1. Why do the static spectra differ if acquired with the function average or with the function max-hold?
2. Why is there an offset between the spectra with span 10 MHz and 2 GHz, if acquired with max-hold?
