When I set up my MSO46 at 4 s/div on auto roll trigger, the channel display colors change on each update, the displayed signal jumps between channels, and some signals disappear and reappear with each update. If I click stop, the display shows whatever the current state is (not the correct state). By the time the roll approaches ~90% screen coverage (right to left) all of the colors are correct, all of the signals are correct, and all signals are displayed.

Is this expected behavior?

I will be updating firmware, but we usually wait until we can test any automated scripts before upgrading all scopes. We have been burned before when the updated firmware has caused our automation comms commands to stop working.

I have a video of the signals walking across the screen and changing, not sure if it will include.

Please advise.

Tektronix MSO46
F/W: v1.40.3.236
Six channels capturing data
TPP0250 on five channels
TCP0030 Current probe on one channel
Sample rate: 625k
Record length 25Mpts
4 s/div

Thanks,
Mark

HI Mark,

I was not able to replicate this issue on the latest firmware version, so I would recommend updating if possible.

I understand your concern about the new firmware breaking your current functionality but if that is the case you should be able to revert the update using the forceinstall file described in the install instructions.
