I'm using an AFG 1022 running version 1.3.0.

I setup channel one to drive a Tek scope to verify the output of the AFG 1022.

When setting up the AFG 1022 to output a sweep function in log mode, the Tek scope shows the sweeping frequency changing as expected.

However, when setting up the AFG 1022 to output a sweep function in linear mode, I do not anything but a steady dc state on the scope.
I have tried setting the trigger mode internal, external and manual without success.

Has anyone successfully used the AF 1022 using the sweep function in linear mode?

Hi Michael,

I don't see a 1.3.0 available? The latest firmware available on our website is 1.2.7.

With 1.2.7 I was able to get a linear sweep with no issues.

1.3.0 was available in May of 2022. It is no longer listed on the website.

I have attached the 1.3.0 upgrade file. I'm trying to downgrade to 1.2.7 and getting a failure code 6

I'm trying to figure out what the error code means.

Perhaps you could try the 1.3.0 upgrade to see if you experience what I have re: sweeping in linear mode.

I found this from an article on the web regarding error codes via the upgrade process.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">Error message

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">2 File size too large

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">3 File read error

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">4 CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">5 Type flag error in the firmware file

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">6 The firmware version of the instrument cannot be updated to the firmware version of the file.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">7 The instrument model does not match with the model of the firmware file

The error message 6 seems to indicate that "down grading" is not possible. If this is true, is there a process to reset the firmware completely and then do an upgrade?

Hi Michael,

I have confirmed that this is an issue with 1.30 and that it's not possible to downgrade the firmware.

Our teams are working on an update to fix this issue, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Michael,
I do not yet have any news on a software fix for this issue.
I am working with our teams on other possible solutions and I will contact you through email to discuss them.
