I have a AFG3022C which I know is discontinued and want to know if the AFG31022 would work with the software and bench setup that I currently use.

The AFG31022 will cover the same use use cases as the AFG3022C as well bringing some additional functionality to the table, particularly with its optional sequencer software. It may not strictly be a drop-in replacement programmatically though, existing scripts and programs will likely require modification depending on how they are configured (although the basic instrument controls are very similar).
