Good afternoon, I would need your assistance in finding a solution to connect the TDS 3052 oscilloscope to a PC running Windows 8 using TekScope Utility. I have downloaded version 1.4.2 of TekScope Utility, but so far, I have not been successful in setting it up. I have installed a PCI card for RS232 ports on my PC, and I have also tried using an RS232 to USB converter. Unfortunately, I have not yet achieved success. Any guidance or help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Jonathan,

How's your RS-232 connection setup on the scope and in VISA? Make sure they share the same settings (baud rate, flagging, parity, etc).
Also make sure that your VISA is actually searching for RS-232 devices (TekVISA doesn't by default).

Hello Afonso Teles,
thank you very much for your answer, unfortunately I have not been able to connect it to the pc, it could be something of fireware? the oscilloscope has version 2.11. any suggestion will be taken into account and thank you very much for your time.
Regards!

Hi Jonathan,

It shouldn't be a firmware version problem, but here's the latest version if you wish to upgrade: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/firmware/tds3000-and-tds3000b-series-firmware-fv341

Pages 3-64 through 3-66 discuss configuring and troubleshooting the RS-232 connection, I would suggest starting there.
