RE: What is the averaging time for my measurement with Kiethley 4200SCS
The measurement time is dependent on the SPEED setting. Your setting is Normal, which equates to 1 NPLC. What that means is that your measurement is integrated over 1 power line cycle period. Your power line frequency is 60hz, so 1/60=16.667mSec is your integration/measurement time. FAST is 30% faster and QUIET is 30% slower. CUSTOM allows you to select any integration rate. Keep in mind that measurement time is a trade-off between speed and accuracy. If you go faster than NORMAL, you will see more noise(at 60hz), If you turn on ENABLE TIMESTAMPS, you will see the total time for each measurement in the data sheet. The total time is source setting overhead + user added delay + measurement time. The source setting overhead will vary by range. Lower ranges will take longer to settle.
