RE: TBS1000 Digital Oscilloscopes Replacement?
Our closest replacement to the TDS1002B would be the TBS1052C. However, you also requested that the scope “does not shrink the display to a perfect square”. The TBS1000C does offer an XY mode, but it will reduce the screen to a perfect square. This can be seen on page 78 of the TBS1000C user manual (linked below). The TBS1052C MSRP is approximately $544.00. I don’t believe that Tektronix can offer a demonstration units for the TBS1000C, but there are multiple demonstrations video on the product page. Let me know if this will not suffice, and I may be able to find a work around for this.
TBS1000C Product Page: https://www.tek.com/en/products/oscilloscopes/tbs1000
TBS1000C Series Oscilloscope User Manual: https://www.tek.com/en/manual/oscilloscope/tbs1000c-series-oscilloscope-tbs1000-digital-storage-oscilloscope-077157101
While the TBS1000C does shrink the display to a perfect square in XY mode. It could be possible to capture a waveform with the TBS1000C, and the post-process this waveform data using our TekScope PC software. This would allow you to save a waveform on the scope and then analyze it on your computer. This would also allow you the analyze the waveform in XY mode with a full display. I have attached an image of what this would look like to this email. The image shows the TekScope Application running on my computer and tests displaying an XY plot of two reference waveforms that were saved previously from a scope (there is no live data present). However, it should be noted that the TekScope PC software does cost a minimum of $201/year. I have linked the TekScope™ PC Software Licenses page below.

If you are interested in a scope that does not shrink the display to a perfect square, our lowest cost model would be the MSO44. However, this may be a bit over on price, as the MSO44 (200MHz BW) MSRP value is about $8,000.

RE: DPO7000 default Admin Password?
Hello,
Unfortunately, our instruments do not ship with or have a generic passwords. If there is password on the device, that means that someone created a user account for the instrument. You will need to login to access the oscilloscope in its current state.
If you no longer have access to the account password, then the only option to recover the instrument is by performing an OS restore. Instructions on how to restore an instrument can be found in the manuals linked below.
