Hello everyone!

I am working with a DAQ 6510 and a multiplexer 7700 and I am trying to set up a scan with two channels that is as fast as possible (channel used: 109,119 - I have also tried a 109,108 pair).

I read from the manual that this multiplexer has a switch time between channels of 3 ms which is just the value I would like to have.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that the scan is set to reduce accuracy and improve scan speed, I cannot get a switch time between channels less than 10 ms.

The configuration, set by LabView, has the following parameters:

Voltage DC function

External trigger

Scan count: automatically setted according to the experiment running time

NPLC = 0.0005

autozero disabled

autorange disabled

line sync disabled

3.5 digit display resolution

no statistics

no filter

trigger delay = 0

I think the limit encountered is due to a configuration problem according to what is written in the manual (swtiching time limit < 3 ms).

Do you have any suggestions to achieve faster scans? Since this value of 10 ms is so repeatable, is there some parameter I am not considering?

Thank you!

Hello,
You are doing everything right as far as I can tell from what you are doing. ~3ms is the time it takes for the relays on your physical scan card itself to open/close the relays. That, paired with operating overhead such as firmware and other settings will add additional time to the actual time for a scan. The quickest scan possible with the 7700 card is expected to be around that 10ms mark you are hitting. See the video below for a good walkthrough on how to set up your DAQ6510 for the quickest scan possible, as there may be a few tips and tricks you could add in for your setup.
