• Does the Tek MSO 4 or 5 have segmented memory?
• Does the MSO 4 support an external TRIG input?
• What is the update rate (spectrum analysis option) of the MSO4?
• For the Tek scope upgrades, I found "SUP4-SV-RFVT" which lists RF versus time analysis and trigger.
o What does this mean? Does the scope trigger on the frequency domain?
o Is this triggering on a specific frequency and amplitude? How narrowly can this be set? I'm picturing a windowed trigger in the frequency domain.
o Does this have a really slow refresh rate (waveforms/s)?
• The MSO 4 upgrades page says that to get SUP4-SV-RFVT, "4-SV-BAS required", but I couldn't find that option in the list. What is that?
• What's the base bandwidth of the Tek MSO 4 spectrum analysis option? I only saw mention of upgrading it 500MHz, but not what the base bandwidth is. I take it this is completely separate to the bandwidth of the scope frontend?

Hello,

See the answers below.

1) Yes, both scope have segmented memory in the form of our Fast Frame application
2) Yes, the Aux In connector can be set as a trigger source in the Trigger Menu
3) The update rate is not specified
4a) This option gives RF vs Time Traces and Trigger abilities, as listed in the datasheet
4b) The triggering for this option works similar to time domain triggers
4c) The refresh rate is also not specified
5) 4-SV-BAS is available for free with firmware version 1.30.1 and higher
6) The base bandwidth is 312.5 MHz and the span is limited to the scope bandwidth
