Kevin is calling on behalf of a customer. He wants to know if they apply the latest firmware for the DPO7104 (4.3.7), when they are using version 3.0.2, it will turn the scope into a brick? Thanks!

Hi Kevin,

That shouldn't be an issue according to some internal references I've checked with.

Hi Steve,

The request below is backwards. We have a scope with 4.3.7 and our customer wants it downgraded to 3.0.2. We want to know if that will cause problems.

Hi Kevin,

If the scope came with firmware 3.0.2 installed, originally, that should be fine to do.

Scopes in that era shipped with specific firmware versions to match any bill of material changes in hardware. Upgrading firmware from that point accommodated all changes in all systems.

Reverting to a firmware version released prior to the date of manufacture has the potential to cause some hardware to malfunction.
