• RE: MSO 5 Power status LEDs

Thank you Aidan for answer, but honestly, your answer looks as if a neural network is answering me.

Look what MS copilot anwered at my query:

The power status LEDs on an oscilloscope can indicate various states of the device. However, the exact meaning of each LED can vary depending on the model and manufacturer of the oscilloscope.

I recommend referring to the user manual or technical documentation of your specific oscilloscope model for detailed information. These documents usually provide a comprehensive explanation of what each LED indicates.

If you’ve already checked the fuses and voltages on the carrier board and they seem fine, you might want to check the power supply unit (PSU) of the oscilloscope. Sometimes, issues with the PSU can prevent the oscilloscope from turning on.

Additionally, consider checking the functionality of the display and the front panel buttons. If there’s an issue with either of these components, it might appear as though the oscilloscope isn’t turning on.

If you’re still unable to determine the issue, it might be best to consult with a professional or contact the manufacturer’s customer support for further assistance. Please remember to always follow safety guidelines when working with electronic devices, especially those involving high voltages1.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I'm trying not to appear passive-aggressive, I apologize if my observation may evoke such emotions.

Before disassembling the oscilloscope, I read the service manual (which by the way has no decoding of LED values), then disassembled it as instructed and for several days tried to localize the failed components.
After the lack of success, I tried to ask the community of this forum in the search for help.

Unfortunately I have no possibility to contact a service center. There aren't any in my area.
  • MSO 5 Power status LEDs

    Good day, mates.
I am looking for information about  Power status LEDs values.
Oscilloscope screen and front panel do not turn on. I've dissassembled it and checked fuses and voltages on carrier board, everything looks fine.
Four of the six LEDs are green, though. How to figure out which LED is responsible for what? Or what needs to be checked additionally?
    Thanks for your help.
