• RE: Keithley 7002 switching mainframe with excess noise current

Were those cards that you swapped out working in another mainframe? The current paths are through the cards, not really through the mainframe, so if anything is up, I would assume it would be on the cards. You can check for offset current – close the switch and leave the connections to the DUT open and see if the current in the system is really high. Repeat without the switching system connected. If the offset current with the cards is much higher than without (supposed to be < 1pA offset current added for the card), then it’s probably something wrong with the card. It could be a lifespan issue. The relays have a limited contact life, I believe their resistance increases as they age so that will increase noise. You could try measuring the relay contact potential as well.
For future reference to this thread, the 7002 is a retired product and will be moved to the " Vintage and Retired Models" category.

  • RE: 2614b model external output trigger

The model 2604B/2614B/2634B are lower cost in the 26xx Keithley family and are without some features to their other relatives. Unfortunately, we don’t have any physical port externally to make a trigger. Software can be used with the edition of another instrument to send a trigger. I would take a look at KickStart if you are using other Keithley/Tektronix instruments for that trigger. Otherwise, you would need to make this custom.
  • RE: Choose save path for exported data in Kickstart

Unfortunately, you cannot change the default path to save projects every time. This requires a manual selection as you have been doing.
However, there is a sort of work around. First, create a folder in the desired path (such as on the desktop, in a certain folder, etc.) and save that Kickstart project there.
Then close KickStart, go to the path and open your project directly from the folder you saved it in. This should open KickStart automatically with your project loaded on screen. Run a test or gather data, save, and export. Check the export and it should be in this folder along the path you desired.
  • Choose save path for exported data in Kickstart

How do I save the path I'd like records to be saved in? We currently have to always go in and change it.
