Is there a user manual, or a reference manual for the DMM App? I can only find a Quck-Start Guide which does not answer detailed questions.

How can I set a sampling rate for the DMM App? I would hope to find a box in settings where I can set the rate, but there is no such box. I find that changing the value in NPLC can sort of set the rate. For example, if I use 0.8333, I get almost exactly, but not exactly, 50 samples per second. If I run it a second time, the exact sample rate is different, still close to 50 samples per second but different from the previous test. I want to be able to compare two sets of data, and to do that I need to have exactly the same clock rate.

Unfortunately, there isn't a manual for the KickStart software, currently.

We have some helpful videos developed for KickStart on our support YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/user/TektronixSupport/search?query=kickstart

Some of these videos are using older versions of KickStart, which will not show all enhancements currently included in this growing software solution, but will give you a good starting point.

Sample Rate in DC measurement on most instrumentation, including our DMMs, is governed by a multitude of settings (NPLC, filters, delays, etc), rather than a direct 'sample rate' parameter.

The DC functions prioritize accuracy and speed/rate are a secondary aspect.

Speed/rate will need to be optimized based on those accuracy-first parameters.

If you want the control of sample rate, primarily, I recommend using the Digitize function.

This will provide a direct sample rate field that you can utilize.

Digitize Voltage and Digitize Current prioritize the sample rate parameter.

I find that I can set sample rate if I select "Digitize Voltage". The slowest sample rate I am able to set is 1mS which is much faster than I need. I would like 10mS. I could accept 20mS. Sampling at 100mS rate is much too slow for my needs.

I see no "Digitize Resistance" option, I also would like to sample 2-wire resistance at a 10mS rate.

I am using the software with a mechanical endurance test machine which typically might run 100,000 cycles and the motor moves typically at a 30 rpm rate. I do not need the high sample rate of 1mS, and it produces much more data than is needed.

Is there any way I can set the software to sample at a 10mS rate, both resistance and voltage? My minimum sample rate would be 20 mS rate.

Hi

Can you suggest me which license works for DMM App operation? Also I have License for the Data logger App nut every time I open this app a warning appears which is asking for some kind of scanner card. From where I can get this scanner card?

The Data Logger app requires the instrument to have at least one scanner card installed.
The Data Logger will then make use of all scannable channels.

The DMM app does not require a scanner card. It uses the front or rear terminals to measure.

DMM & Data Logger licenses are as follows:
KICKSTARTFL-DMM-AN : KickStart Precision Digital Multimeter Application Software; 1 year Subscription Floating License Option
KICKSTARTFL-DL-AN : KickStart Data Logger Application Software; 1 year Subscription Floating License Option

For a complete list of KickStart licenses, look for the datasheet on the KickStart page:
